When looking back through this blog and its many posts, you get a real sense of two emerging themes. One, the children being immensely proud of their work. Two, that this work is being shared and co-constructed between peers and families. Excellent tool in the hands of such wonderful experts.

Wristbands as a way to promote pupil voice?

I think these wristbands are great. They look very cool, but more than that they allow the children autonomy over their learning, instant access to a great set of tools to manipulate and publish their ideas. The fact that the software stays o the band and does not need uploading, downloading, all kinds of loading is great. it keeps the concept simple but very effective. The video aspect is a concern as it limits the children's interaction with digital medias. After seeing some of the projects developing I am now asking myself this question, if each child had one, would their opportunities for personalising their learning, communicating their voice and sharing their learning motivations become a reality within our school. simple answer, yes.

Black History Month

Tharmajan researched Michael Jordon for his black history project. Here are a few picutures that he found on the Internet.

Instruction on how to make a sandwich

Steven wanted to share how to make a cheese and cucumber sandwich.
Well done Steven

I really enjoyed making my document using the wristbands. I think my work will be really helpful to others.

Faizan used his wristband to display a table that he found on the Internet to help everyone with their numeracy.
Well Done.

scary picture

I like using Smart writstband becase you could draw and design things. We could record our drawing as well. So that others could see how you can draw things. Also it is easy to type and get pictures onto slides.

Michael Jackson

I started using my wristband a few weeks ago. I decided to do Michael Jackson for black history month project. I thought I would use my wristband so that I could share with my family and class mates.

I have realy liked using the wristband as you can use different colours and different size.
You even don`t have to draw shapes becuase you can press the shape button.

Great idea!

The wristband is a great idea. I am a teacher at Gearies and I often want to prepare my lessons at home. Because I don't have the Smart board software at home I usually have to go back to using power point. The wristband now makes prepartation a lot easier.

The smart board tools are easy to use and it is a lot easier to go forwards and backwards on pages when you teach a lesson. Inserting pictures by using the camera or copying and pasting is a lot easier as well.
The children in my class see me use this programme almost every day and found it easy to understand and use independently.
The only negative thing is that it is a lot harder to add video clips, and sound.
It doesn't have that "wow factor" of words/picutres flying in.

I have liked using wristband because there are lots of tools you can use.

My counsin has used one of the bands at her school and she helped me look around the tools.

Today Anjalina & Yusuf created intresting Patterns using shape of diffrent sizes.

We found the shapes tools at the top of the screen and made these wonderful patterns.

I also discovered a tool that made all the lines that I had drawn go striaght, what a cool tool.

I really like my push and pull
project. It was fun making it on my
smart wristband.

I looked at my project of the big smarboards and I thought it was great.

I like the smart wristband because it could do different things and it could even do

backgrounds! If want to add a little bit more you could do a different backround

with pictures.

I liked taking it home and knowing I could show my class my work on the big board in our classroom.

My brother and uncle thought the bands were a really good idea.

I have made a project about The park, I think young children would like to learn about this.

I like to use Smart wristbands becaues I like to do things on the computers.
My faviourite subject is geography so I made a project about my country using the very good templates..
I don't think any thing is bad we Smart wristbands.
When I took my writstband home, my dad was interested becuase you can put lots of files and things on it.
